"I was the youngest training senior sales leaders. I didn’t plan it that way, it just happened because I took to data like a fish takes to water"

“I was the youngest training senior sales leaders. I didn’t plan it that way, it just happened because I took to data like a fish takes to water.”

Seventeen years ago, Hebsiba entered Godrej without knowing that it would become more than a workplace. What began as a role at Head Office quickly evolved. She moved into the sales MIS department, relocated cities, raised a family, and quietly, powerfully, made her mark.

But entering this world came with its own culture shock.

“At home, shouting was a taboo. If my dad just gave me a stern look, that was enough. Here, I was surrounded by voices louder than I’d ever heard,” she laughs.

Still, she never let the noise shake her. One of her biggest lessons came early: learn to say no. “There was so much work coming my way. My boss told me, ‘Say no. Say you’ll do it in two days. I’ll back you, but you must take that step.’ That changed everything.”

Her resilience showed not just at work but in life. The day the new regional office reopened in Chennai was the same day her son was born, premature, with a cleft lip and palate. The moment was overwhelming. And yet, she wasn’t alone.

“I was in the hospital, and suddenly, my RO staff were there with me. They helped my husband with the paperwork, and they even paid the hospital advance. Who does that? Even today, I can’t believe it. That is why this family means so much to me.”

For Hebsiba, Godrej is not just a workplace, it is home. Her roots run deep, and her loyalty comes from lived experience.

“Even if someone tells me to leave, I won’t. This place is more than my job. It’s my family.”
