Pruthvirajsinh Dodiya (He/Him)

Junior Officer, Production – Godrej Chemicals

“My mother was so happy that I was present for her. She told me she would be alright because her son was with her.”

Pruthvirajsinh moved to Ankleshwar city, thirty kilometers from his village for his child’s educationEvery weekend, Pruthvirajsinh and his young son would make the 30-kilometre journey from Ankleshwar to their village. It was more than a routine it was a way to stay close to his parents, and to keep the bond of family alive across generations.

Then, came the night that turned everything upside down. He received a phone call from his father informing him that his mother had suffered a heart attack.

Without a second thought, Pruthvirajsinh rushed to his village in the middle of the night. His mother needed immediate bypass surgery and was moved to Surat which was 120 kilometres away. The distance was long, but the emotional weight was heavier.

In that moment of crisis, the eldercare leave policy, and the employee health insurance became an infallible pillar of support for Pruthvirajsinh. He was able to take tendays off to be with his mother, to hold her hand through the surgery, and to be her strength when she needed it most.

“My mother was so happy that I was present for her,” he said. “She told me she would be alright because her son was with her.”

For Pruthvirajsinh, those days weren’t just about caregiving they were about love, presence, and the comfort of knowing that his workplace stood firmly behind him when his family was in crisis.
